| Value Resort |
All-Star Movies -
movie theme is very appealing. Where else can you
see a 35-ft tall Buzz Lightyear? |
All-Star Movies -
essence of classic Disney in the theming. Fantasia pool
is colorful, well-kept and spacious. |
| Moderate Resort |
Port Orleans French Quarter
- quiet, quaint and romantic; small enough
to easily walk around and feels like your strolling through New Orleans.
Boat transportation via the Sassagoula River to Riverside Resort and
Downtown Disney are a relaxing change of pace. Romantic evening
carriage rides are also available. |
Coronado Springs -
although a convention resort, I love the generous space
between areas and each section has a unique and beautifully themed area,
including superb landscaping. Also, love the dining option here and the
uniqueness of Pepper Market. The lobby is elegantly appointed -
this resort feels deluxe at a moderate price. |
| Deluxe Resort |
Beach Club -
great location! A short walk puts you in the backdoor of
Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios is a short boat ride away. The pool
is a mini-water park within itself... three acres of water fun, a water
slide and sand bottom pool. Plus, close to excellent restaurants
and eateries. The friendliness of the staff is great, especially
Art the Greeter! |
Polynesian -
location is superb and the theming has everything:
beauty, nostalgia of the Disney of yesteryear. Rooms are very big
and exquisitely decorated (all recently rehabbed). On-site dining is
among the best and lots of recreation opportunities abound. Staff
is consistently first-rate and it is impossible not to be swept up in
the spirit of Aloha! |
| Vacation Club |
Beach Club Villas -
all the above amenities as Beach Club Resort but with the
option of a studio, 1 or 2-bedroom Villa. Villas are spacious and
well equipped. The Villas pool is a nice, quiet relaxing place to
unwind. |
Beach Club Villas -
excellent location; just adjacent to Epcot. The
Villas have excellent amenities such as Stormalong Bay and terrific
dining options nearby. Studios and Villas are spacious,
beautifully themed and service here is good. |

Best Table-service restaurant |
California Grill -
excellent food with a menu that frequently changes,
stellar service, wonderful views. Terrific wine list (try the
Riesling) this restaurant is always worth the splurge. |
California Grill -
One of the signature restaurants, it has outstanding
market cuisine and service that is top-notch. Panoramic views of
the Magic Kingdom only add to my list of praises. |
| Best Counter-service |
Columbia Harbor House
- (located in Liberty Square, Magic Kingdom)
Salads & sandwiches that are change from the usual burgers. |
Columbia Harbor House
- varied menu and reasonably priced. |
| Best Park snack |
sometimes a
girl just can't decide!
Citrus Swirl
- cool, fruity & refreshing
Cinnamon Almonds
- sweet & crunchy; the perfect snack while
watching Off Kilter! |
Citrus Swirl -
It's frozen orange juice and vanilla ice cream.
Available at Sunshine Tree Terrace, Adventureland Magic Kingdom. |
| Best Character Meal |
Crystal Palace -
nothing better than walking down a nearly-empty Main
Street on my way to an early breakfast with Pooh. Breakfast
lasagna is THE BEST! |

Table-service |
The Plaza Restaurant
- offers sandwiches, burgers and salads and a good
dessert menu. The chicken strawberry salad is a favorite and the
Apple Charlotte always hits the spot! |
Liberty Tree Tavern
- Lunch is an excellent value and I enjoy the uniqueness of the
character dinner. Colonial offerings and home-style favorites like
turkey & dressing, pot roast and more are a nice change from the typical
theme park options. |

Table-service |
Le Cellier
- this was a close call with L'Originale Alfredo di Roma
Ristorante but the Cheddar Cheese soup, pretzel bread and ice wine won
out over fettuccine Alfredo. Cozy atmosphere, attentive servers
make this a favorite. |
Teppanyaki
- it's not just a meal, it's a show. The food and staff are
consistently above par and I enjoy the experience of just watching my
food being freshly prepared by skilled and entertaining chefs. |
|
Counter-service |
Fountanview Bakery
- (located in Future World) croissant sandwiches and
fruit make this an excellent change of pace from burgers.
Wonderful bakery items available. Great for breakfast, too. |
Fountanview Bakery
- I love the fresh sandwiches and pastries offered here,
along with some great breakfast items and desserts. |

Sci-Fi Dine In Theater -what
child doesn't like to watch movies while eating? Enjoy B-movie
clips while seated in your own car at the drive-in. Nice lunch and
dinner menu and good BBQ ribs! |
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
- This place can be hit or miss, but my
experiences here have all been great. Fairly varied menu in a fun,
yet relaxing setting. If you ever visited a drive-in theater, this
is a great trip down memory lane! |
|
Counter-service |
Back Lot Express
- standard fare of burgers and chicken strips but
different choices like Sesame Chicken Salad and a grilled turkey &
cheese sandwich make this an interesting change of pace. |
Toy Story Pizza Planet
- when I need a cheesy pizza, this place fits the bill.
Good value in a fun setting - the arcade will keep kids busy while you
take a well deserved break! |

Table-service |
No recommendations-with
only Rainforest Cafe and Donald's Breakfastasaurus, Animal Kingdom is
sadly lacking in table-service options. This will be remedied soon
with two new restaurants opening in late 2007 / 2008. |
No recommendations -
I'm usually not in this park at mealtime. |
|
Counter-service |
Tusker House -
1/2 rotisserie chicken, grilled salmon and turkey wraps are a change
from the standard burger menu. |

Must See's at Walt Disney World Resort |
|
| 1. |
Soarin' at Epcot -
For someone that doesn't like motion simulators, this ride is a must-do.
It's so smooth and breezy; I truly feel like I'm flying. The
imagery is breathtaking and no matter how many times I ride it, I still
feel like I must lift my feet or they'll get wet in the water! |
Soarin' at Epcot -
Simple concept yet done so well it's hard to tell you really haven't
left Florida. Also, a great attraction everyone can enjoy
together. |
| 2. |
Turtle Talk with Crush,
The Seas with Nemo & Friends Epcot
- Dude, this is like one of my most favorite attractions. I marvel
at the technology and absolutely adore the honesty of the children as
they answer and ask questions of Crush. Duuude! |
Big Thunder Mountain,
Magic Kingdom - Classic attraction that's fast
and a good time guaranteed! |
| 3. |
Big Thunder Mountain,
Magic Kingdom - Twists and turns and great
scenery highlight this fun coaster. It's not called the 'wildest
ride in the wilderness' for nothing! Ride it at night if you get
the chance. |
Expedition Everest -
It's not necessarily an easy ride for me, but it's so well done that
it's hard not to include the meet & great with the Yeti on this list! |
